Wheels for Wise is an affiliate of the Veteran Affairs independence program, dedicated to assisting Veterans and others with transportation to medical appointments, including visits to doctors, physiotherapists, dentists, day surgeries, massages, and more. As the first organization of its kind in the Atlantic region, we are continuously growing to meet the needs of our clients. This presents a wonderful opportunity for individuals who are semi-retired or looking to make a positive impact on the lives of Veterans in their community.
We are currently looking for a driver/support worker in Newfoundland
What we are looking for:
Veteran / Retired RCMP preferred but not necessary Position is part-time / Casual 5 to 30hrs a week which depends mostly on employees request
MUST have clean drivers abstract
MUST pass vulnerable sector check
MUST be able to temporarily support someone's weight
Mileage Paid when utilizing personal vehicle
PREFERRED Location of driver is in Grand Falls or surrounding area, but not necessary.
Polite and Caring Demeanor
Smartphone required
Experience with individuals with PTSD is an asset

Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 20 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
• On call
