Summary
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the Fixed, Mobile and E&I Maintenance teams to safely provide high levels of asset availability to meet operational targets. Ensure the necessary workforce, assets and processes are in place to meet operational goals. Ensure all maintenance resources are trained and qualified to perform maintenance activities. Maintain strong planning and execution systems and manage the functionality and cleanliness of site CMMS. Participate in the deployment Hecla wide ERP implementation.

The Keno Hill mine, located within the Keno Hill Silver District in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Keno Hill, is one of the highest-grade silver districts in the world, is situated 350 kilometres north of Whitehorse, and lies within the traditional territory of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun. It comprises 242 square kilometres (km2) with numerous mineral deposits and more than 35 historical past-producing mine sites. Keno Hill is expected to produce 2.7-3.0 million ounces of silver in 2024 as the mine ramps up production.

Here’s what you can expect in this role:
Oversee and implement fixed, mobile and E&I maintenance programs to maximize production efficiency, infrastructure performance and resources.
- Drive operational excellence in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Manage and provide leadership to the maintenance teams, planning and budgeting process and ensure maintenance budget compliance.
- Develop and apply KPIs and metrics to track progress of reliability programs.
- Advise and support purchasing of equipment and spare parts for site assets.
- Manage the maintenance labor contracts.
- Develop and direct the implementation of maintenance programs, processes and policies to meet organizational governance requirements and standards.
- Support the usage and further deployment of the Enterprise Resource Planning Software (ERP).
- Direct the implementation and execution of the maintenance plans and targets.
- Ensure the necessary manpower and equipment is in place to meet production goals, within budget costs.
- Collect and analyze data to make improvements.
- Direct RCA process.
- Manage performance by setting expectations, conduct performance reviews and providing feedback and coaching to direct reports.
- You will help to promote a strong environmental culture, promoting and teaching environmentally friendly values and work practices.

Qualifications
- University degree in mechanical engineering, industrial or electrical engineering or equivalent work/trade experience.
- MMP certification considered an asset.
- 15 years of related work experience, with at least 10 years of related management experience.
- Experience in the mining industry is required.
- Possess good time management skills and able to work efficiently under pressure.
- Well organized, works well independently and in team settings.
- Proficiency in computer applications and software, specifically MS Office, CMMS/ERP.
Safety, Health, Environmental Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Work Environment and Job Schedule
This position will require you to work a rotating shift of 14 days onsite and 14 days off and you will be provided camp housing and meals. As a managerial role, it will be expected that you will be available to support your team offsite as needed. Employees will be frequently exposed to; outside weather conditions, snow conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in most work environments is occasionally loud.
