We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Intermediate Hydrologist to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hydrology and environmental science. The Intermediate Hydrologist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective implementation of hydrological assessments and solutions.
Responsibilities
Leading hydrological field surveys (tasks to include conducting flow measurements, completing bathymetric surveys, surveying, and installing and downloading remote hydrological and meteorological monitoring equipment) for a variety of projects types including baseline studies, Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Monitoring Programs, and others.
Completing hydrological data management and analysis.
Leading groundwater sampling programs.
Prepare technical reports summarizing research findings and recommendations.
Collaborate with environmental scientists on multidisciplinary projects.
Maintain accurate records of data collection processes and results.
Assisting with field equipment maintenance.
Skills
A degree related to hydrology and good knowledge of water resources in western Canada as well as techniques used to measure and model water resources.
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a consulting environment or related industry is desired.
Experience in conducting hydrological surface water modelling will be considered an asset.
Must have superior written and verbal communication skills, be dedicated to high quality results, and use their creative thinking to find solutions to complex problems.
Must be a collaborative team player, highly motivated, and exceptionally organized.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
This position entails a substantial amount of field work; thus, applicants must be willing/able to be away for extended periods of time. Field work will regularly require working in rugged terrain; strong outdoor skills, experience working in remote areas, and experience operating trucks with loaded trailers, ATV’s, boats, and snowmobiles is an asset.
