This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon. Who we are We are the Family and Children’s Services Branch in Yukon’s Department of Health and Social Services. While working closely with Yukon First Nations and the Council of Yukon First Nations, we aim to make a difference through the delivery of Yukon-wide services and programs that support positive and healthy outcomes for children, youth and their families. Your role The Family Resource Worker is responsible for providing and maintaining culturally appropriate, home based support services and groups for caregivers with children aged 0-19 within Yukon. The position works to strengthen the caregiver-child relationship by enhancing parenting skills, reducing caregiver stress, and addressing the needs of caregivers to promote a safe and healthy environment for children and their caregivers. The position works closely with other government and non-government resources in the provision and coordination of services to the child(ren) and families.

Completion of Social Work Degree, Social Services Diploma or Degree in a related field, such as Psychology.
Experience identifying risks to families and children
Experience working collaboratively with parents in learning problem-solving and coping skills by teaching and modelling appropriate and positive parenting life skills.
Experience facilitating groups would be an asset
Experience maintaining client records.
