Collision and Modified Apprenticeship Programs
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated December 2, 2024 up to September 19, 2025)
SALARY: $51,573 - $72,573 per annum
POSITION LOCATION: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

DUTIES
Reporting to the Chair of Collision and Modified Apprenticeship, Red River College Polytechnic is looking for an Educational Assistant for the Collison Repair Program. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist with the delivery of course material and ensure that faculty and students have the support needed for successful outcomes. These duties include but are not limited to: assisting in the distribution of consumables and specialized equipment to students in training; ordering supplies/materials; securing open educational resources, books/literature/online resources; within established guidelines and procedures to ensure that the necessary material is available for tutorials, labs and seminars when needed. The incumbent is also required to participate in department and College committees and assist in student orientation and graduation activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A valid journeyperson's certificate in any of the following trades: Automotive Body Repair & Refinishing certification, Automotive painting, and experience working within the trade. An Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Several years’ experience working in trades related to Automotive Body Repair & Refinishing certification, or Automotive painting

Ability to assist in maintaining supplies/inventory and obtaining quotations for orders

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Experience working in a shop environment

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in large group settings

Knowledge and practical experience in the application of waterborne undercoat and topcoats

Holds current individual ICAR credits, or platinum status

Ability to use Microsoft Office Software applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams

Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
-
Current training and experience with resistant welding and aluminum repair procedures

Post-secondary teaching experience in apprentice able trades

Enrollment or completion of Teaching for Learning (TFL) Program
- Experience working with operational budgets
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license
- This position may be required to work throughout the academic year including the summer months
