Instructor, Welding (Term Full-Time)

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Term Position Available (anticipated November 12, 2024 up to August 29, 2025)
SALARY: $63,375 - $96,946 per annum*
- The successful candidate with a Masters or Ph D in a related field will receive an Educational Supplement of $2,850 or $5,700 per annum, respectively, pro-rated on an hourly basis.

DUTIES
Reporting to the Chair of the Manufacturing department, the Instructor will teach a wide variety of theory and practical courses in the Welding program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to classroom and practical instruction, effective management of lab activities, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, maintaining accurate program reports and records, preparing course outlines, curriculum development, maintaining lab and classroom equipment, Work-Integrated-Learning (practicum) supervision, participate in College events and committees as required by the department, and other professional duties related to instruction.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Red Seal Certification as a Journeyperson Welder

Significant and current experience across the scope of the Welding trade

Current or previous Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) qualification

Strong commitment to safety regulations
-
Experience presenting to a diverse group of individuals

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes

Demonstrated leadership skills

Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings

Strong presentation skills

Ability to teach on campus and remotely

Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Experience developing curriculum and instructing at a post-secondary level

Certificate in Teaching for Learning or Adult Education

Post-secondary instructional experience
- Proficiency in trades math

Instructors are required to complete the Teaching for Learning (TFL) in Applied Education program or have previously completed the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE)
