The Cahill Group is seeking eager and collaborative candidates for a Corporate Buyer in St. John’s, NL. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work within our dynamic Supply Chain team and play an integral role to develop procurement sourcing strategies and identifying opportunities for cost-savings. As a Corporate Buyer, you will also be responsible for creating and managing purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
The Corporate Buyer will issue RFPs and negotiate commercial terms including price and delivery of materials, equipment, and services with a focus on total cost of acquisition. You will demonstrate excellent communication to develop & maintain working relationships with our key suppliers and stakeholders, as well as internal departments, such as estimating, project controls, and project managers to meet the needs of our projects. This will be a permanent position, working Monday through Friday from our corporate office.
What will you do?

• Review BOM, develop Procurement plans, and review field requisitions to develop procurement sourcing strategy and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Issue RFPs and negotiate commercial terms including price and delivery of materials, equipment, and services with a focus on total cost of acquisition.
• Create and manage purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
• Develop & maintain relationships with suppliers and internal departments such as estimating, project controls, and project managers.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform other duties as required.

What will you bring?

• Minimum of five (5) years buying experience is required.
• Construction experience with focus in electrical and/or mechanical field is considered an asset.
• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution is preferred.
• Professional certification or training through an accredited procurement organization such as the SCMA or NISCL is considered an asset.
• High level of proficiency in MS Office Suites, especially Excel.
• Ability to work efficiently with ERP systems and digital document control platforms.
• Strong written & oral communication skills.
