Great opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to take on a leadership role at large Canadian head office in Winnipeg. Reporting to the the CFO, the Controller will manage the internal financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis and internal controls for a number of corporate subsidiaries and divisions.

Key responsibilities include:
Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for each department
Budgeting and forecasting
Provide strategic analysis to drive improved decision making
Lead and and mentor a strong finance group of 10-12 staff
Manage the accounting operations including review of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting
Establish and monitor internal controls to ensure accounting activities are in line with regulatory and company procedures
Prepare and present financial information for quarterly and annual reports
Coordinating the year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statements
Work with sales team on product pricing, costing and margins
What the successful candidate will bring:
A degree in business/finance with CPA designation
5+ years of finance experience at Controller level
Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management
Proven ability to lead and develop a team
Strong technical skills in financial reporting and complex financial analysis
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Financial analysis, budgeting and strategic planning experience
Must be able to wear many hats and shift gears quickly as priorities change
Excellent computer skills including high level Excel abilities and familiarity with MS Great Plains software
Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial information to all levels within the organization
Commitment to delivering excellence and continuous process improvement
Project management skills and ability to motivate teams to produce quality work within tight timeframes
Experience overseeing external financial audits
