Job Summary As the Plant Controller you will be responsible for planning and coordinating financial planning activities inalignment with corporate policies and practices of the plant. You will provide financial directions to the plantand provide recommendations to improve site performance daily. Core Duties
Manage daily financial reporting from receiving to shipping.
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
Control Purchase Orders (POs) and approve invoices for payment.
Approve production costs prior to Sage 300 entries.
Improve and monitor financial KPIs (inventory, labor costs, overheads).
Prepare and implement annual production projections and budgets.
Analyze production costs with managers to meet margins and implement corrective measures.
Handle financial assistance requests and insurance claims.
Manage foreign worker files per CRA and IRCC guidelines.
Participate in plant audits and follow up on corrective actions.
Prepare for certification programs like ECCP and support the CTPAT program.
Supervise financial processing to ensure actual costs meet forecasts.
Coordinate documentation for finished products and special orders.
Suggest and implement changes to maximize profitability.
Participate in new projects and decision-making for company management.
Represent the company at industry and government meetings.
Role Pre-requisites - all required:
Advance knowledge of Sage 300 accounting software and ADP payroll software
Hand-on experience of Seafood or perishable food plant accounting
Advance level in French and English
Bachelor’s degree in finance or related major
Advance level Microsoft Excel skills and high proficiency with Microsoft Suite
