Discover more about potash at Nutrien! An exciting co-op opportunity awaits a motivated student at our Saskatoon location beginning May 2025 for a 16-month term. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete. This position is not available for remote work.
What you will do:
Assist the Nutrien Geo Services & Land team with a variety of geological tasks that directly support Nutrien’s potash mining operations.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Provide geological support at both the mine and regional scales.
Assist with the execution of surface-based potash exploration drill programs.
Sample, test, analyze, and report.
Wireline log analysis and interpretation (picking geologic markers, etc.).
Preparation of technical reports and presentations.
Installation and management of surface and underground geotechnical equipment
Assist with geophysical survey acquisition such as ground penetrating radar (GPR), electromagnetics (EM), and seismic.
Occasionally work in Nutrien’s underground potash mines.
Some travel may be required.
Some longer than normal workdays may be required.
What you will bring:
Completed second or third year of a degree in Geology or Geological Engineering, from an accredited university.
Superior interpersonal, organizational, communication, writing, and computer skills will be required.
Past industry experience in potash, mining, or oil and gas would be considered an asset but is not necessary.
