Business Development Manager

Royal Le Page Atlantic is a growing real estate company looking for a Broker / Manager to fulfill a leadership role at its Saint John, Rothesay and Sussex, New Brunswick offices. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic manager with experience in real estate (a must) that values the opportunity to support the agents in this office and surrounding areas in growing a meaningful career in real estate sales.
The role involves:
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the offices and its agents.
  • Ensuring the profitability of the region.
  • Working directly with agents to make sure they achieve their business goals.
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable the staff in the region.
  • Responsible for the overall growth of the branches serviced by the manager by attracting agents to the brokerage.
  • Scheduling one on one meetings with agents on a regular basis.
  • Understanding and promotion of company services offered to agents.
  • Plan, budget, promote, and conduct office events such as awards dinners, appreciation lunches, lunch and learns, charitable events, conferences, social events etc.
  • Leading a weekly value-added sales meeting.
  • Quarterly or Bi-annual reviews with all agents to review their success year to date.
  • Being available to answer questions pertaining to deals, the office, the industry etc.
  • Ensuring all agents and employees at the branch receive proper training.
  • Regulatory oversight of conduct and trades by agents.
  • Maintaining and growing the profile of the business within the organized real estate community (ie. Board work, committee work etc.)
  • Ensuring that the physical office space is maintained, and managing the assignment of office space to agents and administrators within the region.
  • Managing compensation arrangements (along with the Business Development Team) for agents within the office and who join the organization.
  • Managing the financial performance of the branch or branches (along with the Finance department) of the region.
  • Participate in weekly, quarterly, and annual Level 10 meetings with the Management Team.
  • Adhere to the annual budget as set out by the Director of Broker Services, and the Manager of Finance. Any significant variance to budget must be approved by the Director of Broker Services.
  • In conjunction with the Operations team, will be responsible for generating new service programs for the brokerage, and the rollout and promotion of those new programs to the office.
  • Maintaining a positive branch culture and morale of sales force and staff
  • Acts as a contact with the public
  • Resolves serious complaints from the public and acts as an arbitrator between Realtors
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with associate brokerages and competitors.

  • Professionally polished with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the real estate industry
  • Manager’s license
  • Previous management experience
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and a high interest in helping people succeed
  • Technologically proficient
  • Financial understanding of budgets and operations expense management
Compensation: Pay band between $80,000 annually and $98,000 annually. Salary is payable twice monthly through electronic transfer.
  • Variable compensation program based upon performance of the region
  • Vacation entitlement will be 3 weeks per annum. 10 paid sick days are permitted annually. Should the contract end, these days will be prorated.
  • The company will cover the cost of reasonable expenses related to the position including any related to maintaining a real estate license.
  • Any equipment provided to assist in the job role will be and remain the property of the company and shall be returned should this contract terminate.
  • The company, at the company’s expense, will provide a Telus cell phone plan that includes access to Telus Health.
  • The company will match RRSP contributions through the designated company program at Manulife up to 3% of base salary after a one year employment period.
  • Benefits available through Manulife (individual or family) 60% of premium is paid by the company.
