Missing Children Europe is looking to recruit a versatile and creative Communications Officer (maternity cover) to maintain and drive forward external communication efforts, support fundraising, and improve awareness for the organisation during the maternity leave of the current officer.
Missing Children Europe is the European federation for missing and sexually exploited children, representing 33 organisations from 27 European countries. . Our mission is to protect children from any kind of violence, abuse or neglect that is caused by or results from them going missing.
The Communications Officer (maternity cover) will report to the Secretary General and support the execution of external communications, awareness-raising, marketing, and press activities, based on the 2022-2025 communication strategy. The Communications Officer will closely cooperate with the Senior Partnership and Fundraising Officer.

Required Profile, Skills, and Background:
- Higher degree in communication, marketing, press relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Native-level proficiency in English.
- Experience managing social media profiles and content.
- Designing skills using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Video creation and editing experience is a plus (Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut).
- Knowledge of website management (Word Press).
- Understanding of and interest in children’s rights and child protection issues.
- Ability to work proactively and take initiative.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Ability to work well in a small team with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.
- Positive attitude, adaptable, and open to feedback.
- Ability to work creatively within budget constraints.
- Legal authorisation to work in Belgium.
