Annual salary of $78,893.62 (pro-rata) + Statutory Superannuation

This position is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health for the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) and is offered as a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2026.

The Role
The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has been a provider of Aged Care Visitor Programs for over twenty (20) years. The program operates to recruit volunteers to provide companionship and friendship to socially isolated citizens living in Aged Care Residential Facilities or in receipt of Home Care Packages based in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, Campbelltown and Burnside.
Reporting to the Manager, Community Services, this position provides a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with people and contributing towards improving the well-being of people in the community. The Volunteer Visitors Scheme Coordinator is responsible for:
- Promoting the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme program and volunteer opportunities
- Recruiting and matching volunteers and residents based upon shared interests and personality
- Onboarding and inducting volunteers into the program and providing ongoing support to volunteers
- Engaging with program members, providing support and participating in ongoing meetings and site visits
- Meeting operational and reporting requirements and key performance indicators
About You
To be successful in this position you will be a self-motivated and compassionate team member with the ability to connect with senior community members. You will possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience with program planning, evaluation and implementation
- Excellent ability to relate to and engage with a range of people and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with volunteers and/or people in the aged care sector or community care
- A qualification in Social Sciences, Aged Care or equivalent (Desirable)
- A current driver’s license (essential)
As this position is required to enter Aged Care Facilities, applicants must comply with the Council’s Vaccination Policy and Residential Aged Care Facility vaccination requirements (such as being vaccinated against Influenza and Covid-19) (Essential).
