Release Lead, Treasury Budget Systems

Role impact & contribution
As a Release Lead, your typical day-to-day work includes:
  • playing a key role in owning all relevant change and release management processes and practices
  • being responsible for leading, scheduling and controlling the release of multiple software applications, updates, operating system patches, security improvements, infrastructure upgrades, projects and programs across multiple environments
  • providing leadership and strategic direction for release management practices, tools, techniques and continuous improvement, with a focus on automating release practices, and integrating with our development team pipelines and change process
  • supporting the approach to release and deployment management process including code repository control, with added attention on vulnerability management, to ensure structure and consistency are enforced and maintained
  • supporting our customers to ensure minimal service disruption and promoting an outstandingly positive customer experience.

What you can bring to the role
In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT change and release role or similar
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or an appropriate discipline
  • Good understanding and experience of ITIL framework and Agile methodology
  • Competent working knowledge of modern Code Management tools like Bit Bucket, Github, Source Tree or similar
  • Sound working knowledge of Atlassian (e.g. Jira and Confluence) and Service Now
  • Ability to write effective process documents, procedures and work instructions
  • Demonstrated experience in leading regular OS and application patching
  • Ability to lead and coordinate large implementations involving technical people from different teams

Eligibility
