About us:
Rockhampton Hospital provides training for Medical Students participating in University of Queensland - Central Queensland Rural Clinical School and has links with the Central Queensland University for Nursing and Health Studies. There is a strong emphasis on strengthening the 'grow your own' medical workforce with an active Medical Education Unit and registrar training as a major focus within the health service.
Specialist Medical Services offered at the Rockhampton Hospital include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care and Anaesthetics. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland.

About the role:
The Registrar or Principal House Officer assists the Staff Specialists and Senior Medical staff in the management of medical patients with acute and urgent illness and injury.

About you:

• Mandatory qualification/s:
• MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 3 supervision.
• If qualifications were obtained outside Australia, the candidate must be eligible for registration with AHPRA including the appropriate supervision level and provide;
• Evidence of successful completion of IELTS or equivalent English Language test results within the last year.
• Evidence of successful completion AMC MCQ (part 1) examination.
• Evidence of recency of clinical practice, supported by current references.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Total remuneration value of up to $172,382 p.a. is comprised of:

• An salary between $129,583 - $150,240 p.a. (L4 - L9)
