About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Surgical Services, Dental Department team as a Dental Registrar, where you will be responsible for:
Provide safe, effective, efficient, and quality dental services for inpatients and outpatients at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital and affiliated agencies.
Offer after-hours “first on-call service” for the paediatric dental service as directed.
Maintain comprehensive clinical records, including documentation for significant patient management decisions.
Monitor and maintain quality outcomes through adherence to clinical review program standards.
Conduct specific topic clinical audits in consultation with the Dental Unit Head.
Offer comprehensive information to help patients and families make informed treatment decisions and understand follow-up care.
Be responsive to patient and family complaints, addressing concerns promptly and effectively. Show knowledge and commitment to patient rights and responsibilities in all aspects of healthcare provision.
Provide systematic presentations of specific case reports as directed by the Dental Unit Head.
Ensure a continuing education program within the department by contributing to and supporting teaching sessions. Assist in the development and implementation of research projects within the department.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Provide consultancy and advisory services to management and staff at all levels, ensuring integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive issues.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse audience on sensitive and complex matters.
Work independently and under limited direction to meet deadlines and achieve agreed outputs, managing demanding and competing priorities.
Develop and implement innovative policies, practices, and procedures to support the achievement of organisational goals.
Problem solving and decision making at both organisational and individual levels and capable of meeting position expectations and requirements.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting and skilled in relating to a diverse range of people, while having strong leadership and motivational skills.
