About the Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Orthopaedic Surgery Department as a Registrar, where you will be responsible for:
Provide care to severely injured patients presenting to WCHN as a member of the WCHN Trauma Team, both in the Emergency Department, and during admission, under consultant supervision.
Assist the WCHN trauma nurse coordinator in Trauma Governance Activities, including preparation of audit data and case presentation for the monthly Trauma M&M.
Attend outpatient clinics relevant to the field of trauma care, including fracture, burns and rehabilitation.
Participate in a roster to provide overnight care of ward and ED patients with acute surgical issues requiring assessment by a member of the surgical team.
Participate in research projects in the field of paediatric or adolescent trauma.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Clinical experience in acute surgical care, including trauma.
Minimum 3 years satisfactory experience as an intern/resident medical officer/registrar in a recognised teaching hospital.
Skill in problem solving and decision making at an organisational and individual level.
Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service to the patient.
