Tell me about this role:
We are currently looking for a Accounts Payable to join our team on a permanent basis. No two days are the same in this role which is essential to the success of the project. We are looking for multi-skilled, flexible, hardworking people who are keen to grow their career within a leading Defence supplier. This role will see you develop process invoices and expenses as well as provide advice to our wider team on financial matters

This role is part-time, 3 days per week. The 3 days can be flexible however will need to consecutive (e.g. Mon-Wed). The position will also need to be done on-site in our Canberra CBD office
What will I be doing day to day?
Checking and verifying invoices
Entering invoices into the accounts payable system
Filing and maintaining supplier records
Answering queries from both subcontractors and employees
Verifying and processing employee expense claims and managing the approval and payment process
Updating and maintaining vendor database promptly
Supporting month-end processing and reconciliation
Identifying improvements to the accounts payable process
What sort of skills do I need?
Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles
Accurate data entry skills
Ability to build good relationships with vendors and employees
Ability to prioritize and multitask
High level of accuracy and attention to details
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a broader team
Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages
Adaptability and ability to acquire new skills efficiently
