Primary objective
Coordinate office management for the NT Electoral Commission by providing effective delivery of finance management, procurement,
corporate reporting, travel management, records management, asset control and executive administrative support. The position also
provides support across the agency during election events.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide comprehensive corporate support services including finance management, procurement, corporate reporting, travel
management, records management, asset control and executive administrative support.
2. Oversee accounts payable, receivables, banking services and ledgers ensuring compliance with financial governance and reporting
requirements.
3. Monitor and manage the agency’s ICT and business assets including maintenance and inventory management.
4. Maintain governance registers ensuring compliance with government accounting and financial management requirements.
5. Coordinate and manage agency travel as the travel systems administrator and booking officer and provide support to staff.
6. Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement of the agency’s corporate practices, systems and
procedures.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated financial, travel, procurement and asset management experience including providing high level advice to the executive
and staff.
2. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact with a wide range of people and maintain
productive relationships, and demonstrated experience in the preparation of reports.
3. Sound knowledge, experience and demonstrated ability in the application of financial accounting principles and practices in budget
management, governance, procurement and internal control frameworks, including the Financial Management Act 1995, the
Procurement Act 1995 , and other relevant policies and legislation.
4. Ability to work with minimal supervision, both independently and interdependently, and under pressure, as a member of a high
performing team.
5. Proven capacity to successfully deliver office management services reinforced by the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply
relevant legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
6. Effective computer literacy skills and experience in using (or the ability to attain) various office applications used for financial and
corporate management systems such as GAS, Boxi, NTG Pay, Expense8, TRIPS and TRM.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business Management or other relevant discipline.
