Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi people.
Roster: 8D/6R FIFO ex Perth
Joining Fortescue as a Material Logistics Officer you will report to the Senior Planner, as part of our Asset & Materials Management department. In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring materials for planned maintenance are on site as per shutdown requirements. This position also provides support with shutdown logistics to ensure delivery of materials are on time for the upcoming work fronts.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection and confirmation of consolidated materials prior to executing planned work.
- Commitment to improving safety and shutdown execution efficiencies.
- Setting up drop point areas for materials required for critical shutdown works.
- Management of Rotable parts in accordance with Fortescue process.
- Loading/unloading of materials, including shutdown tooling and hire equipment.
- Provide additional support during shutdown execution by resolving critical material and logistical issues.
- Reconciliation of post shut materials for future works and ensuring the return of unused parts to the site warehouse.
Qualifications and Experience
- Solid understanding of mining or industrial material tracking and management processes.
- Previous experience with the SAP system involving materials management.
- High Risk Forklift and HR Drivers licences are essential.
- Proven capability with working well under pressure.
- Sound understanding of fixed plant equipment.
- Exposure to planning, scheduling and execution processes will be highly regarded.
