The Intake and Assessment Officer works within the Investigations Management Unit (IMU) and is responsible for developing, delivering and reviewing a range of programs, functions and services that respond to notifications of alleged serious employee misconduct.
The role coordinates and undertakes the accurate recording and initial assessment of information provided, prioritises cases and convenes the IMU triage panel, and proactively seeks and manages inquiries, complaints, and reports from various stakeholders and sources. The Intake and Assessment Officer provides expert advice to the development and maintenance of IMU related frameworks, analyses and reviews operational performance against agreed benchmarks, and coordinates and undertakes the preparation of a range of IMU reporting. Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to demonstrate having a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) prior to being employed. Applicants who do not hold a WWCC will need to apply at Department of Human Services (DHS).
Understanding of ethical principles and the ability to apply them in decision-making processes.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality, discretion, and impartiality in handling sensitive information and cases.
Willingness to undergo security clearances as required by government standards.
This position is primarily office-based, with occasional travel required for meetings, hearings, or site visits. You may be required to work outside regular office hours on occasion, depending on operational needs.
