The Instructional Coach (Primary) is accountable for working with teachers to deliver excellent English and Mathematics educational outcomes for students. They are committed to leading and supporting the delivery of high quality personalised learning and teaching embedded in the Catholic worldview. The Instructional Coach, reporting to the school Principal and Head of Learning and Teaching Support, collaborates with other members of the school leadership team to facilitate meaningful and effective working relationships between teachers and CSPD support teams to ensure a cohesive approach to improving student outcomes.
The opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Instructional Coach to be accountable for leading and learning, through collaboration, instructional leadership, supporting evidence-based practice and a commitment to their own learning. This role affirms coaching as a critical vehicle for developing and maintaining the professional capability of teachers, enabling them to maximise their positive impact on student learning outcomes. This position will attract 2 coordinator points.

The Instructional Coach:
-
Co-planning, implementing and evaluating the School Improvement Plans along with the school leadership team
-
Collating and analysing school literacy and numeracy data to assist in determining challenging targets and next steps to maximise student outcomes and teacher learning

Regularly evaluating the impact of their work using an Evaluative Thinking Tool eg. QDA

Improving the student learning outcomes of English and Mathematics teaching across K-2 by providing in-situ support to teachers (analysing data, observations, modelling, co-planning, co-teaching, co-assessing,and coaching

Ensuring the use of explicit teaching and research-based practices in Literacy and Numeracy through the NSW English and Mathematics Syllabuses supported by an approved phonics based program

Participating in Literacy and Numeracy blocks as a co-teacher in K-2 to build teacher capacity through co-teaching and modelling

Engaging actively in regular system professional learning designed to support system goals

Collaborating with the Literacy, Numeracy or Stage coordinator(s) to design whole school professional learning in literacy and numeracy.
The Qualifications:

Accredited tertiary qualification in education or degree in a specific discipline with a graduate degree in teaching

Demonstrated success in improving student learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy

Capacity to work with other professionals to improve practice

Working with Children Check
