ABOUT THE ROLE

The Mechanical Leading Hand is required to lead the Workshop Mechanical Team, ensuring that all Workshop activities are executed in a safe, efficient manner and delivered in accordance with Council’s standards.
Employment Status: Full Trime Permanent
Award: Level C7 + Leading Hand Allowance of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream C) Award – State 2017
Salary Range: $2,955.70 + Leading Hand Allowance gross per fortnight.
ABOUT YOU
The successful candidate will have:
| Essential Knowledge, skills and abilities |
- Experience in the repair and maintenance of various fixed and mobile plant and equipment, including trucks, earthmoving equipment, light vehicles, and small plant.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to successfully impart knowledge and instructions to the Workshop team.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (outlook, word and excel).
- Commitment to safe working practices, with the ability to identify, resolve and report workplace health and safety issues appropriately.
| Essential Education/Qualifications |
- Relevant trade certificate in Diesel Fitting, Mobile Plant or Heavy Commercial Vehicle Technology vocations.
- Possession of a General Safety Induction Certificate (Construction Industry) “Blue/White Card”.
| Essential Licences |
- Possession and maintenance of a Queensland “HR” class manual driver licence.
- Refrigerant handling licence.
