About the role: We are seeking a HSEQ Advisor to join our dynamic team based out of our Regents Park office in NSW which will require you to travel to different sites within our infrastructure space. You will support our operational teams and gain exposure and experience working across multiple projects / customer sites in the greater western Sydney/ NSW region. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that sound health, safety, environment, and quality practices are identified, documented, and fully aligned to the key business drivers. You will partner with the business, providing valuable input to site teams to ensure these practices are understood and implemented. The successful candidate will also support and enable our teams to maintain certifications in accordance with ISO9001, 14001, 45001; ensuring that statutory and contractual obligations in managing all HSEQ risks are met. An integral part of this role will also be to work on preparation, implementation, and monitoring of Federal Safety Commissioner (FSC) requirements for Eptec's journey towards gaining FSC accreditation.
Key Responsibilities include:
Influencing and negotiating with stakeholders to achieve cultural change, with the main objective to achieve a Zero Harm work environment, and participate and provide advice in Zero Harm Committee meetings. Ensure adherence to in-house HSEQ rules and liaise with the HSE department.
Track and apply regulatory changes to all sites and monitor compliance for facilities, procedures, and products.
Share and implement lessons learned across all sites.
Mediate on safety matters with clients and ensure compliance with their HSE systems.
Investigate incidents and assist the team in creating and implementing corrective actions.
Simplify Eptec and client HSEQ systems to avoid paperwork duplication while maintaining compliance.
Support the preparation and updating of HSEQ project documentation (Plans, SWMS, Risk Registers).
Conduct internal audits of the OFSC system.
Conduct inspections, toolbox presentations, and other safety-related activities.
Mentor and train supervisors to enhance safety and minimize risks.
Provide expert advice on safety concerns, including sourcing alternative systems and PPE.
Key Skills and Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ practical experience in a similar role preferably gained from the Construction and/or Infrastructure sectors, having worked in a medium multi-divisional organisation.
Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety.
Return to Work experience and or Coordinator Certificate / experience and Internal Auditing and or Audit certification highly desirable.
Experience working with (implementing & monitoring compliance) HSE management systems, in particular ISO9001/14001/45001, highly desirable.
Experience in HSE system implementation, preparation for audits, in particular FSC accreditation, is highly desirable, along with experience working for an FSC certified company.
Certificate IV Training and Assessment highly desirable, and incident investigation training (ICAM and or equivalent).
Highly developed interpersonal skills with the proven ability to negotiate, facilitate conflict resolution and liaise with both internal and external stakeholders.
A current driver’s license.
