Are you passionate about empowering individuals and fostering creativity? As a Studio Assistant at The Hands-On Studio, you'll play a crucial role in supporting adults with disabilities as they explore their talents and achieve their personal goals. In this dynamic role, you'll work closely and be of assistance to our talented team in our vibrant and inclusive studio environments. Using a strengths-based approach, you'll help our lead tutors work with each participant building on their unique abilities and encouraging independence every step of the way. Your efforts will directly contribute to a supportive and productive workspace where everyone can thrive.
The Role
We're looking for four enthusiastic Studio Assistants to join our team and work alongside our part-time and casual Art Tutors. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to exercise your initiative and creativity, helping to evolve our program and positively impact the lives of our participants. As a Studio Assistant, you’ll collaborate closely with Art Tutors and the Program Manager to ensure the smooth operation of our daily activities. Your role will be essential in shaping an inspiring and productive atmosphere where participants can thrive.

Ideal person
The ideal person we are looking for has:
Interest in accessible arts.
Ability and experience in working effectively as a team member.
Experience in working with people with disability.
Sound organisational skills.
Experience supporting staff and volunteers.
Familiarity with the principles and objectives of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
You will be required to undergo a National Police Check.
To be considered for this role you will also be required to hold:
current Drivers Licence
current ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
current First Aid & CPR Certificate
