Primary Purpose of Role:
Manage the distribution of accounts for certification and approval by emergency services organisations ensuring late payment interest is monitored.
Facilitate user access and perform reviews to financial systems, including Basware, ANZ Expense Manager System, Microsoft Financial Reporting System, Masterpiece and Local Funds Reporting System.
Effectively perform the duties of the Local Funds Reporting System Administrator and provide support to volunteers in the use and maintenance of the system.
Lead the end-of-month reporting process for the Financial Services team, including the management of accrual process, board reports and secretarial support to the Emergency Services Sector Finance Meeting and Finance Forum.
Prepare reports that support day to day management of the various portfolio budgets within the agency including reports which support the monitoring of expenditure, variations to budget, monthly journals and other budgetary reports.
Research and analyse data, collected internally and externally to produce high level analysis and provide recommendations in the form of written reports including quarterly budget analysis.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and the annual statutory financial reports for the emergency services agencies.
Provide high-level financial advice to the executive, staff and volunteers of the emergency services sector.
Support the Manager Financial Services and Business Managers in relation to high-level agency budget processes and planning matters, year-end statutory financial reporting processes and preparation of ad-hoc reports relating to expenses, major incident costs, compliance reporting with Treasurer's Instructions, accounting standards and other government financial management policies.
Manage the relationship with Shared Services SA, including the provision of financial information to assist in their preparation of the Fringe Benefits Tax return, annual financial statements and other statutory reporting requirements.
Monitor grant funded programs and associated expenditure.
Review and develop financial policies and procedures for the emergency services sector.
Manage, lead and implement financial improvement projects.
Essential Qualifications:
An appropriate degree in accounting, finance and economics majoring in accounting.
Remuneration:
ASO5
$85,790 - $95,413
