My Way Support Tasmania is a registered NDIS provider. We empower individuals living with a disability to live their life ‘My Way’ .Our organisation champions and supports people with a disability in making choices and decisions that have a positive impact on their lives by offering person-centred support. We are looking for empathetic and experienced Disability Support Workers who are passionate about supporting others to achieve their life goals and can help our clients to thrive. This role involves providing active support for our clients within their home or out in the community to develop independence and friendships. This includes supporting and encouraging our client to participate in a range of day-to-day activities based on their hobbies, interests and goals set within their NDIS support plan. While performing the duties of this role, you will be respectful of their culture, privacy and dignity. Candidates with previous disability experience will be highly regarded. We will provide training to successful candidates If you are proactive, reliable, have a flexible approach and are passionate about supporting people with disabilities, we want to hear from you! We have a variety of shifts available including afternoons, weekends, nights (sleep over and active night shifts) and public holidays. Shifts will involve personal care, capacity building through hobbies and skills development, domestic responsibilities and community access. We are looking for candidates who have experience or are willing to work with clients with behaviors of concern, and that are able to do sleepovers and active nights. Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
Must be willing to do a variety of shifts and travel
Medication endorsement
Experience with all aspects of personal care
Experience working/ willing to work with clients who have behaviours of concern, and understanding / implementing Behaviour Support Plans
Experience working in the Disability or Aged Care sector
Driver’s Licence
Working with Vulnerable People card with NDIS endorsement
Right to work in Australia
NDIS Worker Orientation Module Training Certificate
