The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency that is responsible for implementing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers. The NDIA values a positive contemporary attitude to disability. The Data and Analytics Branch supports the Agency by providing high quality data and reporting, translating insights into measurable business performance improvements. They are a centralised team focusing on future process improvement, delivering data and reporting effectively with clear accountabilities, while building data literacy capability across the branch and regions. The team develops, governs, and maintains an enterprise data warehouse as well as the NDIA's reporting platforms and production content. They design and build Business Intelligence (BI) interventions and prototype analytic solutions and reports, identifying trends and drivers of performance. Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Understand the strategy and the changing needs of the organisation. Capture business requirements and underlying data and reporting needs.
Translate subject-matter expert and stakeholder discussion into data and reporting products and insights.
Translate key data insights into value adding products for stakeholders.
Articulate complex information into simple messages that can be consumed by key stakeholders with varied levels of data literacy.
Design and build reports, dashboards and data products that support business processes and deliver business insight.
Drive best practice across the Analytics Chapter to ensure consistent analytics methodology and approach.
Mentoring and leading of junior analysts (0-2)

Proven ability to translate data insights into value adding products for stakeholders
Proven ability to take ownership for outputs and see tasks through to completion
Strong programming experience (SAS, SQL etc)
An eye for detail
Team player, collaborative, and results driven.
Strong communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
Showcase good analytical and evaluating skills with strong programming experience (SAS, SQL etc).
Experience working in an industrialised cloud Data Lake and/or EDW environment.
Process Mapping-Able to translate discussion into data flows and process documentation.
Experience working within project management frameworks, the tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
