The NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is an agency within the NSW Department of Customer Service. The Registry was formed in 1856 to register life events in NSW accurately and securely for all time. This includes the registration of births, deaths and marriages and official changes of name and sex.
About the teams
This role sits within Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) the Operations & Service Delivery Directorate in the Marriage Services team. Celebrant key accountabilities will be focused on marrying people and pre-ceremony interviews with clients. Requires up to five days attendance on-site.
The responsibilities for this role:
Maintain high standards of service and professional conduct and practice for marriage products and services.
Provide marriage celebrant services and solemnise marriages to ensure compliance with the requirements of legislation including privacy and anti-discrimination.
Provide marriage ceremony clients and guests with information and guidance to enable them to choose or compose a marriage ceremony.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family relationship services and inform clients on relevant information, to help enhance and sustain relationships.
Promote and sell marriage products and services to support the organisation in creating awareness of Registry Services and in meeting new business and revenue targets.
