The City of Burnside (Council) is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons to join the Board of its well-known and highly valued Retirement Village.
Board Member of the Burnside Retirement Services Board (currently two vacancies with staggered appointment)
The Council is the sole member of Burnside Retirement Services (BRSI), which runs Pineview Retirement Village. Expressions of interest are welcome from members of the community who would like to be appointed as an Board Member to the BRSI Board for two years.
Interested persons will ideally have experience and/or qualifications in retirement village services, aged care quality standards, legal, governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, and strategy to meet the requirements under the current Rules. Experience in change management, leadership, commercial and financial analysis, project management, negotiation, communication, company directorships, and not-for-profit entities is also desirable.
As part of the minimum skills requirements, the Recruitment Panel can only consider AICD or similarly qualified Board Members. While not mandatory, preference will be given to people who live and/or conduct business within the City of Burnside.
It is important to note that the two appointments of the Board Members will be staggered. One of the Board Members will be appointed in 2024 and the other as a Consultant for a year (at the Board's discretion), with the Consultant appointed to the Board in 2025. This will allow for the Board to bring on one person at a time, staggering term end-dates, and the current board can appropriately hand over knowledge and experience while ensuring Board stability going forward.
For further information on either opportunity please contact Matthew Spearman, Director, Corporate on 8366 4116 or mspearman@burnside.sa.gov.au
The Board Member role will be compensated for their time and expertise by an appropriate level of remuneration and will be selected by Council. Applicants will be required to complete a nomination and acceptance form. Applicants will remain on file for 12 months and may be considered for future opportunities.
Expressions of Interest, detailing experience, skills, knowledge, affiliations, and qualifications should be forwarded to jobs@burnside.sa.gov.au by 9 am Friday 8 November 2024.
