Renko Group Pty Ltd is seeking Electrical Switchboard Fitters / Technicians.
Your position will afford you the opportunity to develop and grow as you complete electrical maintenance and projects in a busy industrial environment. Our work ranges from small control systems and to major infrastructure projects in Darwin and remote locations. The role could see you develop your skills in a variety of different areas of our business, including in a workshop manufacturing environment or in field servicing and construction.

Working hours:
Full-time position.
38-hour week
Monday to Friday
Occasional overtime as required
Salary: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 per annum
Job Summary:
The Switchboard Builder is responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical switchboards and control panels according to specifications and industry standards. This role requires technical expertise in electrical systems, strong attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. The Switchboard
Builder will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure
the timely completion of switchboard projects while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities:
1. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications to understand switchboard requirements.
2. Assemble switchboards by mounting components, such as circuit breakers, relays, switches, meters, and control devices, onto panel boards or enclosures.
3. Wire and connect electrical components using proper techniques and following wiring diagrams and electrical codes.
4. Perform functional and continuity tests to ensure proper operation and adherence to quality standards.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues or wiring discrepancies during the assembly process.
6. Inspect finished switchboards for quality and compliance with specifications, making any necessary adjustments or repairs.
7. Collaborate with the engineering team to provide input on design modifications or improvements.
8. Maintain accurate records of materials used, labour hours, and test results for each switchboard project.
9. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
10. Assist in the training and mentoring of junior switchboard builders as needed.
Key Competencies and Skills:
  • Holds a current NT issued drivers licence
  • Understanding of technical electrical diagrams (schematics & power)
  • Understanding of technical mechanical diagrams (Panel layouts etc)
  • The ability to use hand tools and power tools
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Maintain a high-quality standard of work
  • Ability to work independently or as a team environment
  • Must be Australian resident or already hold a current working visa
Desirable Competencies:
  • Experience in an electrical switchboard wiring & manufacturing
  • Electrical testing and verification experience
  • Instrumentation qualifications or experience
