Emerald Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Emerald and Central Highlands region. Our vision, in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy is for Emerald Hospital to be the Central Highlands hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and some surgical services. We will invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.
The population of the surrounding community is approximately 28,000 with 15,000 at Emerald. There are two small hospitals within 100kms, located at Blackwater and Springsure. Emerald Hospital is a 28-bed facility, has two operating theatres and approximately 160 staff delivering services across acute, community and primary care.
About the role:
Allied health plays an important role in achieving the objectives set out in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy. Allied health work closely with medical, nursing, technical and operational colleagues, and community partners to optimise patient recovery and well-being. The allied health workforce is supported to achieve clinical excellence through a commitment to improving quality, creating continuous improvement opportunities and a culture of learning and development.
About you:
- Provide a defined range of clinical screening assessments as delegated and allowed by testing guidelines and legislation.
- Provide a defined range of treatments as prescribed by the allied health professional. Initiate changes to treatment programs using results from standardised assessment tools.
- Provide basic education on a defined range of topics to patients or groups of patients.
- Lead group treatment sessions together with an allied health professional or more experienced assistant, including providing feedback to the allied health professional on individual and group performance.
- Contribute to patient records according to organisational guidelines and legal requirements.
- Actively contribute to a multidisciplinary team through departmental and team meetings, case conferences and other team projects and activities.
What we offer:Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $33.52 - $35.24 p.h. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $39,868 p.a.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
