About the role:
The AI and Data Sharing Lead will be responsible for overseeing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and facilitating data sharing practices to enhance disaster management processes.
The primary objective is to leverage AI and data governance principles to improve risk assessment, response strategies, and coordination efforts in disaster mitigation.
More specifically, you will:
  • Develop and implement AI strategies aligned with disaster management objectives, focusing on improving risk assessment and response capabilities.
  • Evaluate AI models and technologies for their suitability in disaster management scenarios, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Expanding the scope of AI Model Evaluation to encompass thorough assessments of model performance, accuracy, and machine learning considerations.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building within the Disaster Management to promote effective application of AI technologies.
  • Establish and maintain data sharing agreements with government agencies and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration and information exchange.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to integrate data from various sources into disaster management processes, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance with data governance principles.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies related to AI and data sharing within disaster management and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with Government logistics team to implement data sharing agreements with government agencies and other entities.
  • Develop an internal strategic framework involves defining criteria for prioritising voluntary data requests, clarifying roles where data owners manage governance reviews and execution, and ensuring efficient resource allocation with procurement and project management expertise for effective handling of official and voluntary data sharing agreements.
About You:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Computer Science, IT or a related discipline (desired)
  • Project Management or Business Analysis Certification/qualification (desired)
  • Experience in AI, data science, or related fields, with a focus on disaster management or emergency response
Experience
  • Advanced project management, including the coordination of cross-functional teams and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Experience in evaluating AI models and technologies, with knowledge of data governance principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Capabilities:
  • Proficiency in AI technologies and data science methodologies, including the evaluation of AI models and technologies for disaster management applications.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive initiative delivery, from conception to implementation, while maintaining alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in data governance and compliance, particularly related to data sharing agreements and regulatory requirements, ensuring initiative delivery adheres to legal and ethical standards.
  • Understanding of disaster management principles and risk assessment methodologies, with the ability to integrate data into decision-making processes and drive proactive disaster mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with analytical problem-solving abilities, to facilitate collaboration and overcome challenges encountered during initiative delivery.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex initiatives within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in dynamic environments.
  • Strong project management skills to support strategic initiatives and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Ability to evaluate vendor capabilities and foster innovation aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Ability to create interactive and intuitive data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Arc GIS Online to communicate complex geospatial and AI-driven insights effectively to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making and situational awareness.
