About the role
The Advanced Scope Pharmacy Assistant contributes to direct patient care by providing advanced clinical support tasks under the direct and indirect supervision of a pharmacist to the facilities within West Moreton Health including directly assisting pharmacists with patient related care tasks in addition to managing stock and imprest portfolios for a defined clinical area.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to apply advanced knowledge in pharmacy including knowledge of the health care system, advanced computer literacy, medical terminology, and general medical conditions.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate, supervise and liaise effectively, with an understanding of the scope of practice in a complex and demanding work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan, perform and evaluate quality improvement activities under the guidance of a registered pharmacist.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a defined range of advanced pharmacy services to people with variable health literacy, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy funding arrangements (including the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and Special Access Scheme), clinical trials management, good manufacturing practice and current Australian pharmacy professional standards and guidelines.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
