The Patient Flow Support Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Administration Officer (Maintenance & Interim Care) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity
To provide and undertake a diverse range of confidential administrative support services to ensure the Stream deliver on their delegated accountabilities.
About the Team
The Patient Flow and Access Services (Stream 3) supports services across the continuum of care from access and entry through to discharge. The unit's responsible for strategic leadership and operational activities, monitoring demand and capacity, escalating (as needed) patient access and flow issues across the hospital and into the wider community. The team coordinates the safe movement of patient between services and facilities as well supporting hospital operations with innovated and contemporary practices.
There are three core components:
- Patient access and flow (Bed Management and Afterhours Management)
- Nursing and Midwifery workforce pool (Nurse Bank and Casual Pool) and
- Hospital and community interface services including hospital avoidance and bed alternatives (Care in the Right Setting, Transit Care Hub and Long Stay Patient Team).
Utilising technology and working in partnership with patient and health professionals the service aims to ensure patients are treated at the right time, in the right place and by the right health professional.
