About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Back-End/API Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable back-end systems and RESTful APIs using Type Script and Node.js.

What You'll Do

Design and develop robust, efficient, and secure back-end systems and RESTful APIs using Type Script and Express.js / Node.js.
Plan and implement data models and database schemas for relational (e.g., Postgre SQL, My SQL) and No SQL (e.g., Couch DB / Mongo DB) databases.
Optimize application performance by identifying and addressing bottlenecks through profiling, telemetry, and code optimization.
Implement best practices for code structure, maintainability, security, and scalability.
Write clean, well-documented, and testable code using industry-standard coding practices.
Collaborate with other developers, participate in code reviews, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in back-end development, data management, and software engineering.

We'd Like to See

7 or more years of related experience
Proven experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex and highly performant back-end systems and RESTful APIs.
Strong proficiency in Type Script and modern Java Script (ES6+).
Extensive experience with Node.js and related frameworks (e.g., Express.js, Nest.js).
Proficient in working with relational databases (e.g., Postgre SQL, My SQL) and No SQL databases (e.g., Mongo DB).
Expertise in data modeling, database design, and data access patterns.
Knowledge of web networking protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, Web Sockets) and security best practices (authentication, authorization, encryption).
Experience with performance profiling, optimization techniques, and software algorithms.
Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

It Helps If You Have

Experience with back-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha).
Knowledge of cloud platforms and deployment processes (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
Familiarity with message queuing systems (e.g., Rabbit MQ, Apache Kafka).
Knowledge of caching strategies and technologies (e.g., Redis, Memcached).
Experience with Dev Ops practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, monitoring, logging).

Compensation Overview
$42,900 - $47,850 USD Annually

Final compensation details will be determined based on a wide variety of factors, including experience and location. These factors will be evaluated and considered by Worldly throughout the entirety of this process.
Compensation figures are listed in USD and are converted to the applicable rate in this region.
