Woodshop Studio Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Woodshop Studio Assistant to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on individual who thrives in a dynamic, artistic environment. Responsibilities include assisting with woodworking and sanding tasks, constructing and preparing frames, supporting the painting process, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the studio. This role requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency in handling various tools and equipment, and a passion for art and craftsmanship. The Studio Assistant will play a crucial role in the creation and presentation of artworks, ensuring that the studio remains a productive and inspiring space to work.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with Projects: Building, priming, painting, and cutting various materials to construct base structures for Ben to create artwork.
  • Cutting and Shaping: Using saws, routers, and other tools to cut and shape wood according to project specifications.
  • Sanding and Smoothing: Preparing surfaces by sanding and smoothing to ensure a high-quality finish.
  • Assembly Assistance: Helping with the assembly of artwork and other products offered.
  • Finishing: Applying stains, varnishes, paints, or other finishes to protect the artwork.
  • Quality Control: Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensuring the studio and workshop are clean and equipment is properly maintained.
  • Workshop and Studio Organization: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Delivery and Installation: Helping with the delivery and installation of finished products.
  • Shipping and Handling: Packing and shipping artwork to clients or galleries
Experience
  • Hands-On Woodworking: Practical experience with woodworking tools and techniques, such as cutting, shaping, sanding, and finishing various materials.
  • Safety Practices: Understanding and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality craftsmanship and precision in all tasks.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
