Position Summary: The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, maintaining inventory and associated records and supervising staff. This position is responsible for the consistent and proper flow of material to customers (internal and external) and proper safeguarding of and record keeping over the company’s inventory management. The Warehouse Manager will train and delegate tasks to Warehouse Associates as required and work alongside the team to accomplish tasks. This is a temp-to-hire position.
Responsibilities:
Supervises all shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities performed by warehouse associates.
Maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
Confers with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control, or purchasing.
Reviews invoices, work orders, consumption reports, or demand forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and to issue work assignments.
Achieves warehouse KPI, operation optimization and cost control goals.
Prepares, coordinates and manages physical inventory, including controlling inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with ERP (Net Suite).
Monitors and manages min/max levels on inventory, making recommendations for fine-tuning inventory levels and mitigating obsolete and/or slow moving items
Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Supervises team to include hiring, training, reviewing and approving time cards, planning and assigning daily work; conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems.
Maintains a customer service-oriented philosophy in all conduct of self and warehouse staff.
Ensure the efficient utilization and physical condition of warehousing space by planning and implementation of new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
Performs regular cycle counts to monitor inventory accuracy and creates action plans to address all deficiencies found in the cycle count program.
Reviews all shipping, receiving and inventory discrepancies and determine root cause.
Interacts with customers, suppliers and transport companies to resolve problems with delivery of shipments.
Negotiates with carriers, warehouse operators, or insurance company representatives for services and preferential rates.
Responsible for SOP document release and execution, creating and improving the workflow guidelines.
Responsible for maintenance and procurement of the equipment and tools.
Facilitates the timely return of product to vendors.
Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
Participates in planning personnel safety, training, and warehouse protection activities. Ensures safety procedures are followed and makes recommendations regarding safety issues.
Position Requirements:
BA/BS in a business or technical related field or equivalent required, MBA a plus.
Minimum 5 years of warehouse experience in hi-tech industry, experience with relevant and related products a plus.
At least 2 years of management experience.
Proficient in Microsoft office, ERP (such as Net Suite), online shipping systems, and/or Google Suite.
Knowledge of inventory control practices; strong ability to implement and execute.
Working knowledge of warehouse operations best practices including safety and OSHA standards.
