Warehouse Associate

OVERVIEW

Palletizes and closes work orders for shipping. Prepares boxes for shipment and places in appropriate location for subsequent pick up by shipping services. Perform final inspection and packaging of orders as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read order for address and shipping instructions and verify address and preferred shipping instructions, after unit is placed on scale.
  • Accurately pulls packs and ships products on customer orders.
  • Scans all part number barcodes into Insight system for internal order/product tracking.
  • Maintains and verifies accuracy of each order. Corrects discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance to the 6S checklist
  • Observes all safety regulations and procedures of the facility.
  • Performs other assignments, as directed by source of supervision.
  • Stocks work cells when all shipping tasks are complete.
  • Properly restocks items in a timely and accurate fashion to maintain accurate inventory control.
  • Schedules LTL truck pickup on an as needed basis Obtains and maintains HAZMAT certification.
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred one (1) to three (3) years experience working in a warehouse setting.
  • Computer experience including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Internet usage and e-mail.
  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • No college degree is required for this position but would be helpful in the advancement opportunity.
  • High level of motivation and efficiency.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence/instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
  • Ability to use Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to recognize special instructions for Customer orders.
  • Ability to be the Quality Control for Customer orders before these are shipped.
  • Ability to contact proper personnel if any questions arise with Customer orders.
  • Review open order backlog for shippable orders
