Elevate is immediately looking to expand our team, working in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager in the efficient and safe operation of the warehouse. This includes overseeing inventory control, managing warehouse staff, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and optimizing operational workflows. The Assistant Warehouse Manager plays a vital role in maintaining organization, productivity, and effective communication within the warehouse.
Key Responsibilites:
Become an expert on Shiphero software.
Supervise warehouse staff (e.g., pickers, packers, forklift operators) to ensure that all tasks are completed effectively and safely.
Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring all activities are performed efficiently and according to company policies.
Coordinate receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
Ensure that the warehouse layout is optimized for space utilization, safety, and workflow efficiency.
Help in managing inventory levels, ensuring that all stock is stored properly and accurately accounted for.
Assist with scheduling shifts and assigning daily tasks to warehouse personnel.
Provide training and guidance to staff on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
Conduct performance evaluations and assist in the management of employee development and discipline.
Assist in performing regular stock counts (e.g., cycle counts, year-end inventory) to maintain accurate inventory records.
Ensure warehouse operations comply with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and any relevant local, state, or federal regulations.
Promote a culture of safety by ensuring that employees follow proper lifting techniques, use safety equipment, and report hazards.
Ensure that all warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors) is maintained and operational.
Report any equipment malfunctions or facility issues to the Warehouse Manager.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8 am - 5 pm - Full-time position with standard warehouse operating hours, which may include weekends or evenings depending on business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or relevant certification in logistics, supply chain, or business management is preferred.
4 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Verbal and Written Comprehension of the English Language
Basic Math Skills
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Good understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software. Ship Hero is a plus.
Proficient in using warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), stand for long periods, and work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
