Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk in a busy veterinary urgent care practice. As a Veterinary Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in being the first impression of the practice, in assisting with administrative tasks, scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and supporting the veterinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and their pets with a friendly and welcoming demeanor
- Answer phone calls and emails, addressing inquiries and scheduling appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with medical collection processes
- Provide basic pet care instructions to clients and offer support during emergencies
- Utilize veterinary terminology accurately to communicate effectively with the team and clients
- Handle financial transactions, including processing payments and invoicing
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
Skills:
- Proficiency in answering client questions regarding pet health (i.e. emergency vs urgent vs stable)
- Knowledge of animal behavior and signs of distress, aggression, pain, etc
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and critical care concepts, preferred, but not required.
