Veterinary Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary staff in providing high-quality care to animals. This position involves working closely with both the medical team and pet owners, ensuring that all animals receive the best possible treatment and attention. A strong understanding of animal care practices and a passion for animal welfare are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Provide proper animal restraint to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, including injections and oral medications.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to aseptic techniques.
Monitor animal patients for signs of distress or changes in condition, particularly during critical care situations.
Perform routine animal husbandry tasks, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals.
Assist with diagnostic procedures such as blood draws, catheterization, and other laboratory tests.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices and post-treatment instructions.
Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.

Experience

Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not required; we welcome enthusiastic candidates willing to learn.
Familiarity with animal anatomy, physiology, and handling techniques is highly desirable.
Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices is a plus.
Experience with dog handling and general animal husbandry will be beneficial.
