Ser Vermont promotes, supports, and recognizes volunteerism and community service throughout the state of Vermont and is seeking to fill six (6), one-time Disaster Services VISTA Positions with a specific focus on Flood Recovery. Members will engage in Disaster Preparation, Response, Recovery, and/or Mitigation in response to the recent Climate Disasters in Vermont. Ser Vermont is partnering with a number of organizations statewide to collaborate on flood recovery and climate resiliency. Join this new initiative and serve in the Vermont Climate Corps! These positions are part of the American Climate Corps and members will serve from March 2025 to March 2026. Ameri Corps members serving in these positions will also have an opportunity to live in program-provided housing in Central Vermont.
Member Duties : The Vermont Climate Corps VISTA Disaster Cadre will address flood recovery in Vermont and will join our multi-focus VISTA umbrella cohort already serving throughout the State as part of the Ser Vermont VISTA team. Each VISTA assignment will have an anti-poverty focus, a commitment to community empowerment, an emphasis on sustainable solutions, will work to build capacity at organizations and will be specific to flood recovery. Capacity building activities may include communications, grant writing, fundraising, establishing volunteer recruitment and management systems, community outreach, and partnership development. VISTAs help Host Sites achieve lasting solutions to poverty. Join our small and passionate team!
