Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students, the Title IX Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all aspects of Arkansas Tech University's compliance with Title IX. This is a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor all federal and state laws and regulations to ensure Arkansas Tech University's compliance as specifically related to Title IX, VAWA, and the Clery Act.
Collaborate with campus partners, most often Public Safety, Human Resources, and legal counsel on policy development and administration of policies and procedures.
Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures in compliance with federal and state law for all reports of gender-based discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation, including sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Supervise Title IX Office staff which includes an investigator and a hearing chairperson.
Recruit and train volunteers to serve in the Grievance Pool as decision-makers and advisors.
Respond to reports of gender-based discrimination, including responsibility for conducting intake meetings with parties.
Supervise all aspects of Arkansas Tech University's policies and procedures related to reports of gender-based discrimination, including investigations and resolution processes.
Oversee and manage caseload in a manner that ensures the prompt, impartial, and fair resolution of complaints.
Maintain accurate records of Title IX complaints.
Provide support resources and supportive measures to complainants and respondents.
Serve as the facilitator for any requests for informal resolutions.
Create a strategic action plan to provide comprehensive educational outreach and training for all aspects of Title IX.
Assess action plan for established learning outcomes to ensure effectiveness of programmatic elements.
Create and publish annual reports, including action plan required by Arkansas Act 563.
Prepare funding proposals and the establishment of budgets needed to support new educational outreach and training initiatives.
Plan and coordinate educational outreach and Title IX training for students and employees using innovative programmatic ideas and national best practices, including online training opportunities.
Collaborate with campus partners to incorporate Title IX education and training into existing programs and courses, i.e. new student orientation, academic orientation course, Residence Life programming, etc.
Create an implementation plan/evaluation cycle for the assessment of campus climate via surveys and other data collection tools; Analyze data collected and provide feedback and recommendations.
Use data to inform programmatic and training initiatives.
Remain current and pursue professional development opportunities ensuring that all new guidance and best practices are incorporated into the ATU Title IX action plan and in compliance with state and federal law.
Ability to think critically about and apply statutes, regulations, and guidance.
Balance and prioritize multiple high-priority tasks.
Exhibit strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Represent and serve on departmental, division, and university-wide committees as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's Degree in College Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education Administration, or related field from an accredited university
3+ years of experience in Title IX or AA/EEO in the higher education setting, student affairs, human resources, compliance, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Title IX law, regulations, and guidance as well as the Violence Against Women Act, including the Campus Sa VE Act, Clery Act, and other demonstrated knowledge of and ability to interpret federal and state laws regarding discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Experience in Title IX compliance, complaint resolution, investigations, resolution methods, and educational outreach/training.
Excellent communication skills, including experience conducting presentations, workshops, or training events.
Expertise in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
Position is required to maintain office hours within the Title IX Office during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm). Occasional evening and weekend work is required. Occasional on-call assistance may be required.
