This position is responsible for providing support, positive direction and redirection to people residing in IS Living’s various programs for adults and children with disabilities, including brain injury in support of IS Living's mission to Co-create a culture of autonomy and well-being in our communities. The Therapeutic Mentor focus is to build healthy relationships with each individual in order to help them achieve their goals of living with as much independence as possible. This may include:
Trips to the aquarium, zoo, bowling alley and more!
Modeling patience, empathy, and effective communication
Engaging in and leading therapeutic activities (Think gardening, making salsa, yoga, etc.)
Collaborating with the people served and team members to offer the highest quality of life possible
Assisting individuals with activities of daily living, which may include routine doctor’s visits and hygiene care
Being an advocate and model of dignity, respect, and inclusivity
Full or part time12 hour shifts available

Minimum Qualifications:
18 years of age or older
High school graduate or equivalent
1 year of experience in a caregiver role, medical role, or related training or 1 year of education and experience that enables full performance of all aspects of the job is preferred.
Valid driver's license in good standing preferred
Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English
Successful clearance of local and or state background checks
Must be able to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug screenings.
