Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and patient-oriented Speech-Language Aide to support speech therapy services in public schools throughout Little Rock, Arkansas. This role involves working closely with a virtual speech-language pathologist to facilitate therapy sessions, supervise students, and perform light administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Travel to schools and homes to assist in delivering speech therapy sessions between virtual speech pathologists and in-person students.
Supervise children during therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
Manage student behavior as necessary.
Complete clerical tasks, such as printing, filing, scheduling, and organizing therapy materials.
Use basic technology to support virtual therapy sessions.
Interact directly with children from preschool through high school.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must successfully pass a background check.
No prior experience in speech therapy required; training will be provided.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong communication skills.
Excellent organization and time management.
Ability to connect with and supervise children effectively.
Patience, empathy, and willingness to learn.
Basic technology proficiency (e.g., using video conferencing tools, printers).
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Frequent travel to various school and home locations.
Ability to adapt to different environments, including schools and residential homes.
Compensation:
$17–$20 per hour, based on experience.
Supervision and Reporting:
The Speech-Language Aide will report to a virtual speech-language pathologist and work collaboratively to ensure quality therapy services.
Training:
Comprehensive training will be provided at the beginning of the assignment to equip the aide with the necessary skills and knowledge.
