*Must live in Suffolk or Western Nassau to be considered for this role* Blue Sea Education is currently seeking a Special Education Service Specialist in our Smithtown office. The Service Specialist is responsible for coordinating supportive services for students as assigned by school districts. The Service Specialist utilizes superior communication and organization skills to maintain contact with school districts and families for students needing supportive services. Service Specialists are responsible for maintaining and ensuring adherence to mandated school district policies and procedures. Duties & Responsibilities:
Process all requests from assigned School Districts while building rapport with district personnel to facilitate service provisions and enhance company growth.
Communicate effectively by phone and email with School Districts and families
Collaborate with Staffing Department and Clinical directors
Utilize computer applications (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, etc.) to perform a variety of administrative duties and responsibilities
Conduct quality assurance related activities with assigned School District and families to ensure satisfaction and compliance
Skills & Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in Customer Service
Experience in Special Education and/or experience with understanding IEPs, clinical specialties such as ABA, Mental Health, Speech Therapy, OT, PT preferred
Minimum Associate’s Degree
Possess strong written and oral communication skills
Strong time management, organization, and critical thinking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Internet and general computer skills
