Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our educational team. This role is essential in supporting students with diverse learning needs, particularly those with autism and other developmental challenges. Job Types: Part-time, Temporary, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $60.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 40 per week
Physical Setting:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to join our educational team. This role is essential in supporting students with diverse learning needs, particularly those with autism and other developmental challenges. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment that fosters the academic and social growth of students.
Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide support in the classroom by helping students with their academic tasks, including math and literacy activities.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills among students.
- Facilitate small group instruction and assist in curriculum development tailored to meet the needs of each student.
- Support early childhood education initiatives, including preschool and toddler care programs.
- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed.
- Experience or training in early childhood education or special education is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies for working with children on the autism spectrum.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other alternative educational approaches is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- A passion for educating and supporting children with diverse learning needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning experience for all students.
