We are seeking passionate and dedicated Mental Health Professionals to join our dynamic team and our NEWLY REMODELED Anniston Office, committed to providing exceptional and culturally competent care to a diverse client base, including children enrolled in Medicaid and their families. Stepping Stone to Success Counseling We are looking for a standard week or Weekend & Evening Only Counselor who will be responsible for helping people manage and overcome mental and emotional issues within a diverse population. The counselor will listen to patients and ask questions to help understand their problems and develop strategies to improve their lives. The counselor will diagnose, treat, and help patients create coping strategies. Will counsel, listen, support, and monitor the patient for progress. The counselor will work with individuals and groups and will help provide community resources for patients. LPC, LCSW, LMSW, ALC, LMFT, Preferred, MS (Supervision May
be available for ALC-Must Be License Eligible) acceptable. Full-Time, Part-time, available.

Counselor Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing patient mental and emotional disorders while also being knowledgeable of cultural barriers and experiences triggering various symptoms. (Diagnostic Impression only for LMSW)
  • Providing therapy through counseling groups, school, communities, and individual patients
  • Evaluating patient through conversations, interviews, and observations to determine correct testing or examination
  • Developing a treatment plan that may include counseling, medication, or other services
  • Setting patient goals and discussing a treatment plan
  • Encouraging, supporting, and listening to patients
  • Helping patients discuss experiences and emotions
  • Assisting patients through difficult life changes and challenges
  • Educating the patient on strategies and coping skills
  • Referring patients to resources like psychiatrists, treatment facilities, or community services
  • Accessing patient needs, and developing strategies to help the patient
  • Maintaining good working relationships with support networks, government resources, and community resources
  • Guiding and assisting patients through life transitions
  • Helping patients with a variety of issues such as phase of life issues, bullying, anger management, depression, LGTBQUIA issues, relationship conflicts, stress and parenting issues
Job Type:Flexible schedules with Evening and Weekend availability, with a standard Monday Through Sunday Work Schedule to Choose from.
Compensation: This is a contractual position.
Requirements: Counselor Requirements and Qualifications
  • Possesses superb written and spoken communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with patients, colleagues, and community resources
  • Compassionate and caring of patients
  • Excellent time management skills; organized and able to prioritize
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple patients
  • Able to organize and manage large amounts of files, schedules, dates, and information
  • Calm and cool-headed with a positive attitude and ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated
  • Comfortable with building personal relationships and dedicated to helping others
  • Empathetic and supportive with mentorship and leadership skills
  • Master's Degree in clinical mental health counseling or a related mental health field, from a school accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling & Related Educational Programs
  • Hold a license to perform in-state; licensed through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Associate Licensed Counselor/Licensed Professional Counselor, National Board of Social Workers.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, and Excel)
  • Able to work some evening and weekends
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Contract Position.
