Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hand and power tools, a CDL-A (air endorsement not necessary), and strong organizational and cleaning skills. This role is essential in supporting our office/shop facility and ensuring that projects are adequately equipped from a tool and equipment standpoint.
Responsibilities
Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of various hand tools, power tools, and equipment (both large and small).
Operate machinery safely and effectively within the office/shop and jobsites.
Support the projects by preparing materials and equipment for use onsite.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
Collaborate with team members to meet project needs.
Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
Operate all-terrain forklifts and skid steers as needed for material handling and cleaning within the office/shop.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a construction company is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.
Ability to operate all-terrain forklifts and skid steers safely; certification is a plus but not required.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing tasks as needed.
